MatriXpec™
Hydrogels

MatriXpec™ hydrogels are developed to offer tissue-specific microenvironments for 3D cell culture. MatriXpec™ hydrogels allow running experiments in truly representative substrates that mimic the biological clues of the native extracellular matrix.

Besides the thermocrosslinkable hydrogel, MatriXpec™ Thermo, we also offer MatriXpec™ Photo, which allow UV photocrosslinking, offering an optimal combination of biochemical and biomechanical properties for bioprinting 3D constructs based on tissue-specific microenvironments.

MatriXpec™ Thermo and MatriXpec™ Photo are currently available for the following tissues:

Adipose, Bone, Brain, Cartilage, Colon, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Myocardium, Pancreas, Skin, Spleen, Stomach, and Vascular.

Why MatriXpec™ Hydrogels?
TISSUE-SPECIFIC MICROENVIRONMENTS

Each version of MatriXpec™ - currently available for 15 different tissues - contains hundreds of tissue-specific extracellular matrix proteins derived from the native tissue. It means all and only the ECM proteins of each tissue will be present, leading to a unique combination found only in the tissue microenvironment itself.

DIRECTS CELL BEHAVIOUR AND DIFFERENTIATION

Due to the very particular composition of each version of MatriXpec™, it is possible to use our hydrogels to direct cell behavior and differentiation. The combination of tissue-specific proteins and biomechanical properties produce clues that cells interpret and react to, ultimately modulating their ability to proliferate, migrate and differentiate.

SUPPORTS 3D VASCULAR NETWORK FORMATION

MatriXpec™ hydrogels allow the formation of three-dimensional vascular networks when mixed with endothelial cells. This possibility paves the way for larger, clinically relevant, biofabricated tissues.
