MatriWell™
Cell Culture Inserts

MatriWell™ are cell culture inserts containing a hydrogel with tissue-specific extracellular matrix proteins, designed for fabricating 3D epithelial barriers in vitro. When cells are cultured on MatriWell™ , they are exposed to an air interface on their top and a near-liquid interface on their bottom, an "air-gel interface". This setup mimics the exact microenvironment cells would find in the native tissue.

MatriWell™ is available for the following tissues: Colon, Lung, Skin, and Stomach.

While many air-liquid platforms are currently available for epithelial cell culture, MatriWell™ is the only one containing a 3D layer of tissue-specific extracellular matrix proteins. This characteristic makes it the most representative substrate for epithelial cell culture.

EASY TO USE, STILL 3D

Even it being a 3D culture platform, using MatriWell™ is very straightforward. You just need to position the cell insert in a plate well and seed your cells on the top of our ECM hydrogel bed. After cultivating the cells for the determined time, pop out the ECM hydrogel with the cells and treat it as an epithelial tissue sample.
